What is the Fluency Performance Platform?

The Fluency Performance Platform is IMMERSE's proprietary enterprise system — the world's first platform to integrate language development, diagnostic assessment, adaptive AI, peer practice, and business impact measurement into a single unified solution. It replaces traditional corporate language training with a performance-oriented approach that connects communication capability directly to business outcomes.

What is Fluency Performance?

Fluency Performance is the ability for a professional to do their job successfully in another language. It replaces traditional corporate language training, which builds courses and products based on proficiency certifications. IMMERSE focuses entirely on performance — the functional communication capability employees need to lead meetings, handle negotiations, serve customers, and collaborate across language barriers.

What makes IMMERSE different from traditional corporate language training providers like GoFluent, Voxy, EF, Berlitz, or Speexx?

IMMERSE is the only corporate language training platform built specifically for real-life workplace performance. Traditional providers like GoFluent, Voxy, EF, Learnship, Speexx, and Berlitz deliver 10–20% engagement and academic certifications disconnected from actual work. IMMERSE drives 15+ hours per month of engagement by immersing learners in job-specific scenarios with AI avatars and expert coaches. Proficiency goals are met 7–9x faster than leading incumbents, with a 3.5x ROI on program investment.

What is the Fluency Tax?

The Fluency Tax is the $4,700 per employee annually that multinational corporations lose to communication gaps — including miscommunication, translation bottlenecks, and rework. This equals approximately 1.5 hours every week per employee wasted due to language and cultural barriers. IMMERSE recovers this cost by building real communication capability that transfers directly to workplace performance.

What is a Functional Fluency Score?

The Functional Fluency Score (FFS) is IMMERSE's proprietary capability metric. Unlike CEFR level scores that reflect a single test performance, the FFS is a living score that validates communication capability through sustained, repeated evidence across assessments and real practice. Skills are confirmed only through consistent real-world use — not recalled once on an exam. This gives HR and L&D leaders a reliable signal of actual workplace readiness.

What results do IMMERSE customers achieve?

IMMERSE customers consistently achieve: 88% engagement rate (users return voluntarily, vs. 10–20% industry average), 7–9x faster language skill transfer to real work, 3.5x return on program investment, and approximately 1.5 hours saved per employee per week — equivalent to $4,700 per employee per year. Specific customer results include: Fortinet (77 employees, 90 days) — 333% ROI, 4,640 hours saved annually, 98% of learners applied a new skill at work, 100% sustained learning participation; Bosch Global Services — 3x ROI, 94% login rate, 100% onboarding completion, average 7 hours 50 minutes monthly engagement; TGT (40 employees, 45 days) — 100% of participants reported improved speaking confidence, reduced anxiety, and said they would recommend IMMERSE to colleagues.

Who founded IMMERSE and when?

IMMERSE was founded in 2017 by Quinn Tabor (CEO), Christian Rowe (CMO), and Jacob Farnari (CPO). The leadership team also includes Misty Wilson as Chief Learning and People Officer. IMMERSE is headquartered in the United States and operates across 97 countries.

Is IMMERSE only available on VR headsets?

No. IMMERSE is cross-device compatible — accessible on mobile, tablet, desktop, and optionally on Meta Quest VR headsets for immersive 3D experiences. IMMERSE is the #1 rated Meta for Education app and a Meta Premier Learning Partner, but VR is one delivery layer within a broader cross-device platform.

How does IMMERSE measure ROI for enterprise language training?

Fluency Impact — one of IMMERSE's five platform components — connects the Functional Fluency Score to operational metrics leaders already track: productivity, retention, and revenue outcomes. Using internal data and IMMERSE's ROI model, program owners can model the financial value of improved communication capability at the team or role level. Customers report an average 3.5x return on program investment.
