Immerse began in a Syrian refugee slum back in 2017.
After being fully immersed in the Middle East for three years, Quinn Taber (Founder and CEO) became conversationally fluent in Arabic while working with local NGO partners.
Suddenly, VR technology was on the rise and Quinn had an epiphane:
"What if virtual reality could be used for good by democratizing immersion for serious language learners around the globe?"
Soon after, Quinn moved backed to California, raised capital from social impact investors, and started Immerse with three co-founders fixated on a radical vision and mission:
Vision: to cultivate global human connection.
Mission: to pioneer immersive language teaching and learning with a vibrant and welcoming virtual world community.
