Client Background
TGT is a global company with a diverse team of professionals, primarily non-native English speakers, who are expected to communicate effectively in English during high-stakes professional interactions, including virtual meetings, conference calls, and team presentations. English proficiency is essential for their day-to-day responsibilities—and advancement.
The Challenge
Despite the high demand to use English at work, most employees lacked confidence and reported high anxiety around speaking. Prior to using IMMERSE:
- 100% said they were anxious about speaking English
- 60% said they were not confident in their English skills
- 100% said they were required to use English daily for their job
- 100% said English proficiency was tied to promotion opportunities
Yet in spite of its importance to their careers, most employees had studied English for less than 5 years, and 60% spent under 2 hours per week learning before the pilot.
The goal was clear: increase employees’ English proficiency and speaking confidence at work.
The Solution

Over a 45-day pilot, 40 employees participated in both live trainer-led classes and AI-powered self-paced activities in IMMERSE. The pilot aimed to test whether IMMERSE’s flexible, immersive experience could boost employees’ speaking skills, reduce anxiety, and help them engage more consistently with English.
Results and Impact
Survey responses following the pilot showed resoundingly positive results: employees were engaged, improving their skills, and wanted to spend even more time learning than before.
